So the latest on the move. Our loan isn't ready to close and neither is our new house. The buyers of our house however have decided (without checking with us) that we're closing Friday and they're moving in Saturday morning. We tried explaining that Brad will be out of town and I will be by myself with a 16 month old, but these asshats don't care. So we've had to hire movers and get a power of attorney so that I can sign for Brad (both unexpected expenses, neither of which the buyers were willing to foot the bill for). Luckily, our realtor (remember I told you she was great!) is footing the bill for the POA and kicking in $200 for movers.
The builders of the new house have agreed to let us move our stuff into the garage Friday. If they have certificate of occupancy by Friday we can tell the movers where we want stuff, but not live there until we close. There is a super, super slim chance we could still close Friday on the new house, which would be phenomenal, but I'm not holding my breath. So the plan is to move the stuff into the garage/house Friday and Miles and I will shack up with my parents until we can hopefully close on Monday.
So at this point I would like to say how amazing our families are. Brad's Dad is taking off work Friday to oversee the movers for me. Brad's parents are coming over tonight to watch Miles (well make sure he stays asleep!) while we do our walk-through on the new house. My parents are coming out tomorrow evening to help me finish packing up whatever is left. Then they're going to let me and my little guy crash there this weekend. They've all offered countless times to do whatever we need them to do. We are sooooooo fortunate to have families who want to help us and care about our stress levels. :-) So thanks Mom & Dad and Robert & Laurie. We could make it without you, but it would nearly kill us! We love you.
