No excuse for laziness, but it's the truth ladies and gentlemen.
Well, on 9.6.11 we found out we were pregnant. It was a complete surprise...total accident, not any less wanted...but certainly a surprise. After 3 blood draws and 6 ultrasounds we miscarried last week on 10.12.11. Very, very sad day. We'll try again next year, but we're going to play that by ear.
On top of that sadness, we found out last month that my Dad's cancer is back and it's not looking good. Dad is currently in the hospital (has been for 4 weeks) and is finally able to eat semi-solid food again. After many scans and a surgery, he's finally starting to hurt a little less and be less nauseated. Mom says it's looking like they'll go home Saturday, which happens to be her birthday. So happy birthday to Mom!
Oh! And in addition to all that sadness, my little brother Nicholas got married. :-) It was a lovely affair and I can't wait to see some pics from it. I only have a couple of me, Zac and Nic and one of Evaline. We were able to Skype Dad in for the ceremony. So he got to see Nic before the wedding and everyone after the wedding. We even got a few pics with him in them on my phone. :-)

These days...
So what's happening right now with the famdamily?
Miles is learning new stuff every day. His imaginative play is getting so interesting to just watch. I love to sit back and watch him imagine different scenarios and act them out. It's really kind of exploded lately. He's doing lots of interesting, fun trips with his grandparents lately too. He spent the morning at the Zoo with Granny one day and went to a minor league baseball game with his Grandma, Papa & Shera. His good looks and outgoing personality got him a baseball from the pitcher before the game. :-)
Brad has taken up mountain biking. He did a race on his dad and sister's encouragement. He had such a great time and it was fantastic exercise for him. So he bought a bike and he's started riding and is signing up for a major race next month. The downside? It's a 24 hour race so he'll be riding for 24 hours AND Miles and I will be camping at the site for 24 hours. Yep..that's not ideal for me at least.
Me? Same old thing. I'm shooting pictures like these. I've decided to get back to basics with the photography and quit worrying about getting paid and do it more because it's what makes me happy and learn my craft more and more. One day I'll be great...for now I'm just happy.

Milesy funnies...
These are things that Miles has said that I have posted on Facebook, but not here, but that I want to remember forever. Enjoy!
Walking into Kroger as it was raining, I was carrying Miles to be quick. He reached up and tried to cover my head so I wouldn't get rained on. Such a gentleman. I guess he might love me.
Miles goes into Grandma and Papa's room and comes out with a basket FULL of eggs that have yet to be hidden and says to everyone "Happy Easter!"
Miles called me "Baby Mama" this evening. :-) I've been called worse...
Me: Miles, will you help me put the clothes in the washer?
Miles: Of course!
Miles got some Nerds earlier from Grandma. Running up to me to ask for more: "Mommy! Can I please have some more turds?"
As I'm waiting on this annoyingly slow truck to get the heck outta my way, from the backseat comes "Go on ladies! Gosh!" Uh oh!
Brad: Miles move over. Daddy has a big butt.
Miles: Mommy has a big butt too! Mommy, you have a big butt.
Nice...
Kermit and Miss Piggy are on TV. When asked who it is, Miles responds "It's the Muffins! I love the Muffins!"
In a restaurant and Miles hears Rascall Flatts' "Life is a Highway". He says "What's that noise? That's Cars! It's Mack Mommy!"
Miles singing Bieber goes like this "Rockbye baby, Rockbye Baby, Rockybye Baby, oh...rockbye baby..."
Miles just asked for another bite of his "Charlie Brown". Can you guess what that is?
Miles just requested "the 'round town song" (aka Cee Lo Green's "Forget You"...the clean version). The kid's got taste!
After giving Miles his yogurt, I say "Miles, what do you say?". His response "I thank thee." Uhm where does he get this stuff? We watch Pixar, not Shakespeare.
Miles: I want my Nukkie mama.
Me: You don't need it. Big boys don't need Nuks.
Miles: I don't wanna big a big boy!
Uhm at school today the kids watched a movie and ate Froot Loops. On our way out the door Miles was holding his belly (aka pocket on his shirt) so I asked if he was ok. He said "Keeping my Froot Loops safe.". Apparently he was filling his pocket and they thought he was eating them...so he had quite a stash by the time I got there!
Just asked Miles to show me his lizard (that he got at school today) and he pulled his pull-up off. Hmmmm...
Miles to me this weekend upon seeing the plastic Dracula on Mom and Dad's front porch: "Mommo, that's Dracula. He kills people." Uhm. You're two...how do you know that?

Wow! Long time no post!
Sorry! I post on FB, but not on here. I really need to find a way to link the two. That would be perfection. My plan is to go back through FB and get all the funny things Miles has said to put them in one spot to go back and read later...and/or embarrass him with. :-) I'll get to that soon, I promise!

Few things Miles has said/done that I don't want to ever forget.
Since I don't keep up with his baby book (smack my hand!) I try to keep all of the good stuff on here so I don't forget.
1.) Miles calls hashbrowns "Charlie Browns". He was asking for this Charlie Brown and Brad didn't know what he was talking about and threw away his hashbrown because it got grease on the chair. Miles burst into tears crying "I want my Charlie Brown!!" Then we realized what it was he was asking for. He still calls them that to this day.
2.) I recently introduced Miles to Jim Henson's Muppets. He started with Muppets Take Manhattan. They were on TV today and I said "Miles who's on TV?" He said "It's the muffins! I love the muffins!" Soooooo cute. He really does enjoy watching "the Muffins".
3.) I went for a run/walk the other day. I got home and Miles had been waiting for me at the door, which was already a lovely thing to come home to. I sat down in the chair to cool off and he climbed in the chair with me and just randomly, out of no where, leaned over and kissed my shoulder. :-) I was the happiest Mama in the world. He wasn't prompted to do it. No one suggested it or had to ask him. He just wanted to give me a kiss and did it. I loved it.
Motherhood is wonderful, but it sure is exhausting. Today has been one of those days where I really did just need a few hours to myself to just be quiet and be still and do what I wanted. That didn't happen, but I made it through, sanity in tact, because of those little moments. They make all the difficult times worth it.
